J. Paul Bruhn is a native of Germany. Born and raised in Berlin, he was brought up Lutheran and joined the United Methodist Church as a teenager. Serving as a volunteer in children’s and youth’s ministry, J. Paul  became a Layspeaker in the early 1980’s.

J. Paul is a graduate of Perkins School of Theology of Southern Methodist University and has served within the boundaries of the Southwest Texas Conference since 1997. He and his wife Marion are the proud parents of two children, and are both involved in the “Walk to Emmaus” movement.

J. Paul also serves as an active member and chaplain of the La Grange Volunteer Fire Department. In his spare time he loves to play guitar and bake.  When asked about his goal in life, he responds, “It’s all about making disciples of Jesus Christ by loving GOD and living grace!”
